Postpartum Doula

As a postpartum doula, I am a bridge between the needs of new parents and the round-the-clock care of a newborn. I provide flexible in-home support and education to families when they welcome a new baby.

Newborn Care

I demonstrate and teach baby care techniques with an approach based on Magda Gerber’s RIE philosophy and early childhood attachment theory.

This philosophy helps lay the foundation for predictable and developmentally appropriate day and nighttime routines for feeding, bonding, playing, and sleeping. When followed, it ensures a harmonious environment for the entire family.

Postpartum Doula Support

Welcoming a baby is a rite of passage for both mothers and fathers.

In Chinese tradition, the first month is referred to as the Golden Month. Here in the West, we are more familiar with the Ayurvedic tradition of the first forty-two days following childbirth.

It is believed the time after the birth of a new baby is a sacred window for the rejuvenation and replenishment of a mother’s physical and emotional well-being, as well as a time for deep bonding with her newborn.

A postpartum doula nurtures and mothers the new mother while guiding the family through their fourth-trimester journey.
